Job description / Role
The Speech Language Pathologist II will work at Sidra Medical and Research Center within the Speech Language Therapy Department which will provide services to neonatal, pediatric and adolescent patients of all specialties as well as services to obstetrical and gynecological patients.
The Speech Language Pathologist II will provide total individualized patient care as assigned according to the core standards of patient care and established policies and evidence based practices.
Key Role Accountabilities:
* Assess, plan, implement and evaluate therapy needs as well as discharge planning for each patient, assessing for current and potential problems.
* Contribute to decreasing the length of stay/waiting time as per unit specific goal.
* Administer standardized and age-appropriate speech and language tests and use non-standardized assessment procedures when indicated.
* Interpret results and develop recommendations in collaboration with the inter-professional team when necessary.
Requirements
* Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology/Therapy.
* 2+ years clinical experience in an acute hospital setting in a North American Academic Center or equivalent in UK, Republic of Ireland, EU States, South Africa, Australia or New Zealand.
* Registered as a Speech Language Pathologist/Therapist AND licensed in country of origin.
* Proficient with Microsoft Office suite.
