The RoleThe RoleThe Speech Language Pathologist III (SLP-III) examines the patient’s medical history and then tests and measures the patient’s skills in the areas of speech, language, voice, cognition and swallowing. Through collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, the SLP III then develops a plan of care to provide goal-directed treatment. The plan includes a treatment strategy, its purpose and its anticipated outcome. The SLP III ensures that appropriate hospital staff, care-givers, and patient and family receive appropriate education and training to further the rehabilitation process for the patient. The SLP III provides accurate documentation of patients’ evaluations, treatment plan of care and updates, patient/family education, team conference updates, progress notes, home exercise programs and discharge instructions. The SLP- III will provide professional, competent and culturally sensitive services to the staff, patients and families of the Humanitarian City. |
RequirementsRequirementsEducation: Minimal requirement of Bachelors degree of Speech Language Pathology from a 5 years program in Saudi Arabia or a Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited school if outside the Kingdom. Experience: None required if Saudi National and at least 2 years preferred in hospital type setting for other applicants. Skills and Knowledge: Ability to assess and treat adult patients with SLP referral. Demonstrated experience in providing services to patients with speech, language, voice, cognitive and swallowing disorders resulting from acquired neurological diseases, stroke or traumatic injury.
