The role of Speech Therapist:
Manage an individual caseload and provide clinical care independently including Speech Therapy assessment, treatment and management of the assigned patients.
Formulate treatment plans in collaboration with patients and their families, delivering speech therapy treatment according to evidence based practice.
Delegate appropriate tasks, oversee clinical workload of speech therapy Technicians and speech therapy Aides to maximize efficiency and achieve desired quality of care.
Mentor and oversee Technicians and Asst Technician.
Responsible for updating personal clinical knowledge.
Requirements
Education and experience:
From a nationally approved and/or accredited college/university one of the following:
Bachelors degree in Speech and language pathology or
3 year diploma in Speech therapy or
Masters degree as first degree in Speech and Language Pathology.
Completion of clinical placement/internship as part of curriculum.
2 years experience as speech therapist.
Essential to have a license/membership of approved professional association.
