Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Role Purpose

To develop, prospect, sell and implement integrated global and regional sponsorships, business partnerships & commercial activities to generate revenue and drive turnstile count.

- Lead the development of commercial marketing function at the client, including overall management of Sponsorship activities.
- Meet sponsorship sales quotas, provide client services to maintain consultative business relationships and develop new strategic alliance business partners.
- Leverage the client’s assets and branding to sell sponsorships in events, community campaigns, exhibitions, signage, promotional rights, product placement, hospitality, marketing rights, official status, exclusivities, naming rights and activation.
- Work with the marketing team in order to develop sponsorship propositions for projects and initiatives launched by the client or its member organizations.
- Develop the client’s advertising properties into commercial value propositions and prospecting, negotiating, and close deals with potential partners
- Research existing and potential partners/clients to determine avenues to enhancing marketing and advertising opportunities through the client’s properties.
- Design, present and sell through customized packages of sponsorships in line with customer marketing goals and objectives and the client’s sponsorship guidelines. Continuously generate and uncover potential clients and leads.
- Develop sales planning and forecasting, development of client programs, direct client activation and contractual development.
- Conduct partner/client meetings resulting in complete understanding of client goals and objectives. Provide highly effective sales oriented customer communications.
- Manage contract administration of sponsorship deals to include issuance, servicing and renewal. Ensure contracts are fully executed and on file. Ensure collections on each respective account.
- Develop and implement advertising sales plan using annual goals. Provide weekly basis report on all commercial marketing activities both confirmed and projected.
- Maximize revenue to the organization. Continuously communicate with sponsor to ensure client is satisfied with partnership and value.
- Respond to call-in requests and handles necessary follow through to connect potential sponsors with the appropriate opportunity.
- Work with internal stakeholders, marketing, operations & facilities departments to facilitate understanding and contractual compliance with promotions and packages that have been sold to clients.
- Develop sponsorship presentations and sales collateral materials and research opportunities to bundles benefits to engage and keep customers satisfied.
- Assist in the strategic development of new and ongoing marketing commercial projects in order to maximize revenue for the client.
- Oversee the development of policies and guidelines for sponsorships development, management and implementation at the client.
- Report on activities and projects implementation/revenue on regular bases.
Assume any other responsibilities as directed by the direct supervisor.
- Monitor revenue levels to the advantage of the business
- Contributing to Strategy and Meeting Business Objectives
- Contributing expertise and vision to marketing and development meetings
- Support the Strategy and BD Manager in promoting the business mission
- Share sales and sponsorship knowledge and expertise to inform marketing strategy
- Focus on business development analysis and evaluation to play a pivotal role in business planning
- Develop and design new programs and services for the client
- Supporting communication programs
- Managing the implementation of our sales and marketing strategies
- Assessing market potential and threats, future trends and competitive activities
- Identifying and developing new business opportunities to design innovative new products and services for the client.

Requirements

- 5-8 years commercial marketing work experience. 4-6 years should be in a similar position / responsibility, preferably in a similar Industry or a multinational organization handling sponsorships.
- Bachelor’s degree Business Administration with specialization in Marketing.
- Ability to think both creatively and analytically: problem solver. Ability to produce and focus on revenue production; develop and implement sponsorship sales and commercial marketing plans; and, use strategic and innovative thinking to improve financial results.
- Requires an effective and confident speaker and proficient writer; strong presentation skills; and, experience in delivering presentations to executive level.
- Must have the ability to perform in a fast paced environment with demanding timelines and shifting priorities. Must be independent, self-motivated; ability to work effectively in a field environment with little supervision; high level of integrity.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
- High level of business and personal maturity, ethics and customer orientation, must be a Team player and able to adapt to different cultures and add to them.
- A commitment to top quality personal performance and productivity
- Proven ability to offer a first-class, professional account management service to commercial partners and to build strong business relationships at all levels
- Proactive approach to identifying opportunities, generating leads and producing sales presentations
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
- A keen eye for detail
- Strong communication skills (written and oral)
- Self-motivated while also a good team player
- Local market knowledge will be an advantage
- Ability to travel and work evenings, weekends, holidays and work related events as needed.
