Job description / Role
JOB PURPOSE:
To provide control & instrument engineering advisory and design services for scopes of work, design basis definitions & basic engineering deliverables. Prepare conceptual designs for modifications or new facilities and evaluate 3rd party contractors if needed.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Contribute to the development and oversee the implementation of department policies, procedures and controls covering all areas of engineering department activity to ensure that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled
while delivering a quality, cost-effective service to customers.
Ensure that all relevant safety, quality and environmental procedures, instructions and controls are adhered to so that the safety of employees, quality of products/services and environmental compliance can be guaranteed.
Determine and review control & instrument equipment related calculations for all modifications and new projects in accordance with ORYX GTLs management of change process.
Develop feasibility studies, design basis memoranda and front end engineering designs (FEED) for all assigned projects for in house use or for submission to 3rd party contractor as part of overall engineering scope.
Review and approve all control & instrument engineering deliverables developed by consultants up to final delivery ensuring that ORYX GTL quality standards are met.
Interface with third parties such as engineering consultants, suppliers, vendors, inspection agencies including Q-companies, local authorities and departments on all control & instrument engineering matters to ensure designs developed are deemed fit for purpose.
Provide technical support on control & instrument engineering issues in the review and approval of bidders, detail designs, material purchase requisitions, construction method statements, pre-commissioning and commissioning procedures.
Witness and accept Factory and Site Tests (FAT/SAT) and inspect completed equipment installations to ensure compliance with design and specifications as required by the project.
Conduct site visits as required to ensure contractors compliance to ORYX GTL QA/QC requirements.
Issue non conformance reports in order to monitor and record adequacy of construction works and materials used.
Contribute to design review meetings, value engineering, risk assessments and project risk studies (HAZOP/HAZAN) in order to provide control & instrument engineering expertise.
Review and modify control & instrument engineering standards in order to ensure ORYX GTL standards are updated and aligned with international and local engineering standards.
Requirements
Bachelor's in Engineering (Instrumentation Engineering & Control is preferred).
EXPERIENCE:
10 Years with at least 8 years in the Oil and Gas.
Experience in Designs is a must.
