Job description / Role
JOB PURPOSE:
To provide discipline process engineering design support as an internal technical service to the Engineering Department. Accountable for all process engineering activities in support of the manufacturing operations. Act as technical staff resource for the location in designing processes and equipment for production.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Departmental Policies & Procedures:
• Contribute to the development and oversee the implementation of department policies, procedures and controls covering all areas of Cost and Planning activity to ensure that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering a quality, cost-effective service to customers.
Authoring and Compilations:
• Author and compile engineering scopes of work, design basis definitions in compliance with engineering deliverable requirements.
• Author and compile in house designs including feasibility studies, concepts, process modelling & simulation studies and reports identified optimisation opportunities.
Contractor Deliverables:
• Review contractor deliverables and ensure compliance with ORYX GTL quality standards and specifications.
Project Execution:
• Provide technical support for project execution phase by reviewing and approving bidders, detailed designs, MPR?¦s, construction method statements, pre-commissioning and commissioning procedures in order to resolve any issues and avoid project slippage.
SAT/FAT Tests:
• Witness and accept Factory & Size Tests (FAT/SAT) and inspect completed equipment installations to ensure conformance to ORYX GTL standards and specifications.
Technical Integrity:
• Check and evaluate projects for their fitness for purpose and ensure that project meets technical integrity specifications.
Risk assessment:
• Participate in design review meetings, value engineering, risk assessment and HAZOP/HAZAN studies and recommend course of action for risk mitigation.
Safety, Quality & Environment:
• Ensure that all relevant safety, quality and environmental procedures, instructions and controls are adhered to so that the safety of employees, quality of products/services and environmental compliance can be guaranteed.
Requirements
Minimum Qualification:
• Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering.
Minimum Experience:
• 7 years of experience with at least 5 years in the Oil and Gas industry.
