Sr. Quantity Surveyor

Job description / Role

ROLE
My client, an engineering and consulting group is currently on a look for an experienced Sr. Quantity
Surveyor. The role requires the SQS to manage and plan all costs associated with the construction of
complex highway projects from the initial calculations to final figures.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Performing risk and value management and cost control;
Preparing tender and contract documents, including BOQs;
Establishing requirements and carrying out feasibility reports
Identifying, analyzing and developing response to commercial risks;
Analysing outcomes and writing detailed progress reports

Requirements

REQUIRMENTS
Minimum fifteen (15) years’ experience in dealing with major highway construction projects;
Experience in claims/arbitration procedures and methods are a requirement;
Experience in the planning of major projects with particular emphasis on the utilization of computer
programs such as Primavera or equally capable program for the planning and tracking of similar projects is a requirement;
Provide assistance to the team during negotiations, arbitration, or any other forms of dispute resolution;
Computer literacy and excellent communication skills are essential.

QUALIFICATION
Bachelor of Science degree in Quantity Surveying from an accredited internationally recognized
university;
Must be qualified and chartered (QS) by a recognized international body such as Chartered Institute of Buildings (CIOB) and Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS)
