Employment: Full Time

We are currently recruiting Staff Nurses for the ITU department of the UKs largest independent hospital, located in London.

The ITU unit at this facility comprises of 15 beds and covers all specialties including cardiothoracic, surgical, liver, spinal, neurological and general patients all with an extremely high acuity. Most cardiothoracic patients are discharged on day 3, post operative and most surgical Liver patients are discharged on day 2 post operation.

You would be joining a specialist medical team that uses the very latest medical technology including the most advanced Da Vinci Robot and state of the art diagnostic imaging equipment. Complimenting this outstanding technology is a close knit team that values both team ethic and the career development opportunities at all levels.

The successful candidate will be adaptable and able to meet changing working patterns and caseload, working independently as well as within the team. They will possess a passion for delivering customer service and a desire to provide an exceptional patient experience. Due to the nature of the role, adherence to policy, procedure and guidelines will be of paramount importance in conjunction with the customer-centric attitude.

Roles and Responsibilities
* Assess, plan, implement and evaluate care, to meet the needs of the patient and family/carers
* Manage patient caseload effectively, prioritising care effectively
* Documentation of all aspects of patient care
* Participate in consultant ward rounds and liaise with the multidisciplinary team
* Report incidents and complaints, participating in thorough investigation and response
* Ensure good revenue capture by recording patient charges and ensuring others do the same
* Deputise for senior sisters and nurse managers in their absence, including mentorship of junior staff

The post holder will provide high quality nursing by assessing, planning, delivering and evaluating care. The position will require effective working within the multidisciplinary team, supervising junior staff and deputising for senior staff when necessary.

Requirements

* RGN - ideally NMC registered with PIN, although international/overseas candidates will be considered
* ALS trained
* Completion of ITU course would be advantageous
* Strong previous Critical Care experience
* Skilled in advanced respiratory ventilation, cardiovascular and renal therapy
* Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
* Managerial or supervisory experience would be desirable

Hours: Full time week and weekend, day and night shifts (typical shifts 08:00-20:30 / 20:00-08:30)
