Job description / Role
Division: Exhibitions
Reports to: Operations Director - Exhibitions
Scope of position: To manage the Exhibitions Design teams workflow and creative outputs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervises each AMs briefing session with designers
- Monitors the base camp comms. to ensure agreements are being kept
- Facilitate relevant discussions between designer and AM throughout design process
- Escalating potential scheduling issues to operations manager
- Reviews all design briefs from AMs to ensure that all information is provided. Provide feedback to AMs when more information is required.
- Ensures designers deliverables meet AMs briefs
- Facilitates design ideas aligned to projects budget to the 3D designers
- Create regular checkpoints throughout the design process to ensure all key stakeholders have time to give feedback as required.
- Manages the team of existing 13 designers and act as an ambassador between them and the creative manager
- Motivating the design team, no matter the workload.
- Attend meetings to be briefed on new projects
- Expected to follow any other job-related instructions and to perform other job-related duties as requested by the company, locally and internationally.
Requirements
- A Bachelors or Masters degree in graphic design (or equivalent) is required.
- 3+ years experience in technical design with specific experience in Exhibitions Industry, preferably with agency experience
- Previous experience in managing a design team
- Previous experience managing a multi-cultural team
- Experience designing visual displays, staging and other event production elements
- Experience with creative content development and designing technical specifications to realize concept and vision project.
- Excellent proficiency using 3D Design Software; CAD and/or Vectorworks, Cinema 4D and Sketchup Pro is a plus.
- First-class attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines and to handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Driven and motivated by results
- Excellent standard of written and spoken English
