Store Manager – Department Store

Job description / Role

Salary: AED 30,000 – 35,000 plus benefits

A globally renowned retail department store is looking to hire a Store Manager for their store which will open shortly in the UAE.

Duties include:
• Assist in development and implementation of long term and short term tactical plans incorporating expenditure & revenue budgets designed to ensure the store growth, profitability and return on investment achieved.
• Contribute to development of annual business plans, associated budgets and sales strategies, monitor performance against this initiating corrective action where necessary to ensure operations are conducted within the agreed financial parameters and targets are achieved.
• Manage the administrative functioning of the store, ensure compliance with international accounting standards and timely administrative support for smooth operations. Manage the visual implementation / merchandising across the store to ensure uniformity.
• Ensure appropriate policies and procedures are in place to cover key areas of retail sales activity and effective systems are in place for monitoring compliance with all procedures.
• Coordinate in-store promotional events for new collections, annual sales and special offer promotions, provide feedback on effectiveness of advertising and PR campaigns and see that such activities are well coordinated to achieve high sales and increased profitability.
• Establish customer database and ensure that the sales managers & department managers collect data on customer profiles to help identify business opportunities and trends by analyzing consumer behaviour to ensure that all opportunities are exploited in an efficient and timely manner.
• Receive and analyse necessary reports on sales and costs budgets and forward the same to the GM. Liaise with the Buying department to ensure supply & stock turnaround to optimize sales.
• Manage the training, development and motivation of staff in the area to ensure that the department is staffed with the requisite number and caliber of staff to meet its objective and that all staff are encouraged to maximize their capability and contribution.

Requirements

• Extensive experience as Store Manager within a department store in the UK, Europe, or other developed Retail Market
• Specialised Sales Management training and expertise typically gained over a period of at least 10 years.
• A proven track record in the field of Retailing & Distribution. Good knowledge and experience in the (related) industry as well as regional distribution, through work experience with international principals.
