Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

The Store manager has the responsibility of the Profit and loss of his store, with a specific focus on the sales, margin (+ waste/shrinkage), staff cost and expenses.

The Store manager, with his team, guarantees the overall quality of the store, including the respect of procedure and policy of Carrefour Market and Majid Al Futtaim Retail Group.

The Store Manager target is to control daily the correct application and follow up of all process from different services. He has a serial of indicators to control, a non-exhaustive list is mentioned as below :

Asset:
- Ensure the proper conservation, utilization and profitability of stores assets.
- Respect national concepts
- Respect and ensure the respect of security and hygiene procedures (assets and employees) in the store.
- Guarantee the quality, the application and protection of companys Know-How in the store.
- Guarantee the quality of services offered to customers in the store.
- Stay informed about competition activities in the stores catchments area and take necessary measures.
- Guarantee a clear image of assortment, quality and discount in the store.
- Listen to customers and react rapidly to their requirements.
- Report any information that might affect the result of the Company.

Human Resources
- Be a model of of Carrefour / Majid Al Futtaim Retail management system & companys corporate policies.
- Promote and practice communication and participatory management within the team.
- Practice and guarantee the respect of MAF-Carrefours values: Freedom, Responsibility, Sharing, Respect, Integrity, Solidarity and Progress.
- Ensure the respect of Labor laws, rules and cultural practices of the country.
- Apply the standard management in the store.
- Ensure the efficiency and the availability of the stores team.
- Ensure the participation of the team in the quest for enhancement of working conditions and productivity.
- Carry out performance evaluation, once a year, with the members of the team.
- Identify employees with high potential and growth in the store and propose their evolution.
- Contribute to the elaboration of the stores training plan and guarantee its execution and follow-up.

Merchandise tools
- Ensure the agreed commercial policy is applied in the store through product assortment, product presentation, store layouts and signages.
- Guarantee the sales dynamics and retailtainment. (Attractive display, ambience) in the store.
- Know the actions of the competition and take appropriate measures.
- Control the stores margin level.
- Know and guarantee the respect of local laws (safety and protection of customer)
- Monitor merchandise flow to satisfy customers in line with companys procedures (CCO, receiving and BC).
- Ensure that the layout facilitates the choice of the customers.
- Optimize the purchasing plan for the seasonal events in the store.
- Ensure the control of the quality of the stock.
- Control the assortment, the quality and the prices of advertised products.

Finance
- Propose and take necessary measures towards reduction of the distribution costs.
- Ensure competitiveness and the expected margin level.
- Ensure the proper application of Business Cycle in the store.
- Ensure the stock level is according to the budget.
- Take necessary measures when needed against fraud.
- Apply cash security and collection procedures at store level.
- Ensure the respect of budget/forecast and take corrective measures when necessary.
- Respect and ensure the respect of procedures in accordance with the D.O.A.
- Propose and manage the application of investments that reinforce the notion of discount, productivity and profitability in the store.
- Contribute to the stores action plan and guarantee its proper execution.
- Ensure the respect of advertising plans and rules of communication.
- Guarantee the teams professional image.
- Use benchmark to enhance market share.
- Report any action that might interfere with the proper functioning of the Company.
- Report any action that might interfere with store market share.
- Communicate social information that can affect the activities and/or image of the Company.
- Guarantee clarity of the information given to the various public of the Company.
- Ensure the circulation of information within the hierarchy.
- Report any action that might interfere with the proper functioning of the Company.

BC tools
- Zero stock report, labeling survey, delinked items, items facing 0, depreciation stock.

Security
- Monthly audit, critical indicators.

Logistics
- Service level, claim, and delivery schedule.

The Store manager works deeply with his team within the store to have a maximum control on his daily tasks.

In addition to that; to support the sales and the overall quality of the store.

The schedule of the Store manager must include working on Saturdays (3 times per month).

Requirements

University Qualifications: BSc in Business Administration
Nature and length of previous experience: 2 years in business management, retail
Specialist knowledge: Microsoft word, HRMS, Retail Management
Soft Skills and Personality traits: Leadership, good negotiator, communicator, Pedagogy on training & Coaching
Age Range: 24-40
Gender Preference: Male
Nationality Preference: UAE
Language Fluency: English and Arabic
Current Location: UAE Only
