Store Manager - Marks & Spencer, Al Ghurair Centre

Marks & Spencer, part of Al Futtaim Retail, is a globally recognised retail brand offering stylish, high quality, great value clothing and home products as well as outstanding foods.

With 18 Stores currently located across the GCC including locations in the UAE, Oman, Egypt, Bahrain, Kuwait and Qatar there is further growth planned with an additional four stores to open in 2012 to further strengthen this exciting brand within the Middle East market.

We have a newly created opportunity for a Store Manager to take on the responsibility for our new stores in Al Ghurair centre. You will be responsible for the overall performance of the store including sales results, people, customer service and overall customer satisfaction. Our stores include Ladies, Mens, Kids, Lingerie, Home, Food and Beauty.

Your day will be diverse and busy when handling a multi-department store and tasks will vary from markdowns, visual displays, space management, staff training, floor walks, reporting, coaching, staff rota's and much more. Whether a direct or indirect responsibility, these are all functions to name a few that will fall into the scope of your role.

Requirements

A passionate and experienced retailer, your background will include managing larger scale retail operations and achieving optimum sales targets. Full P & L responsibility will also lie with you and therefore you will need to be comfortable managing costs and budgets and interpreting sales data to report back to management on the overall financial status of your business.

Your ability to develop, coach and mentor your team will be a critical success factor. Therefore your success at coaching others and demonstrating your ability to manage through others and deal with the ups and downs of supervising staff will be a key area we will measure.

Overall you are capable commercially and maintain awareness of market positioning while understanding the many contributing factors that increase or decrease foot fall and thus impacts your store.

The role will also require you to be flexible with your days and times to meet the opening hours and 7 day nature of retail.
