Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Our client is a family owned business in Dubai. They are looking for a Store Manager to run one of their stores with the potential to progress and run more over the next 6-12 months.

As a store manager, you have to make sure that everything runs smoothly and that you meet any sales goals set by your supervisors. Additionally, you might need to promote the business and come up with different advertising strategies. You will also have to supervise your employees closely, discipline them, and let them go if they are unable to perform the job right. On the other hand, you will also recruit, hire and sometimes train new people.

Role:
- You will be managing a small team of staff
- Attending to customers and building relationships with them to increase profit.
- Merchandising
- Cash handling
- Keeping the store clean and tidy.
- Stock - you will be expected to order new produce and regularly make an inventory of the goods.
- Create and maintain certain budgets, as well as coordinate and report to supervisors within the company.

Requirements

- Western, preferably Australian female
- Retail store management background would be ideal but if you dont its not essential. The client needs someone with:
- Leadership skills; you have to supervise employees. This means keeps them motivated, resolve conflicts when they arise, reward staff or discipline them accordingly. Consequently, if you want to be a good store manager, you need to work on your leadership skills.
- Budgeting abilities.
- Time management skills
- Analytical skills; you will have to figure out if a new employee will be a good fit for your team, so analytical skills will also come in handy.
- Decision-making; Hiring and firing people, dealing with customers, reporting back to employees each and every one of these task require you to make decisions that will affect the company. Being able to keep your head clear and think fast even when you are pressured is crucial if you want to be successful in your chosen field.
- Good communication
- Customer-oriented; when a customer is displeased, they will ask to talk to the manager. How you interact with these customers will determine if they will purchase from your store again. As a result, it will affect the health of your company, as well as employee morale. Being able to hear the customer out and solve their issues promptly is crucial.
