Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

This job is for a road construction project.

Responsible to manage the receipt, storage & issue of materials to the project with the objective of providing uninterrupted supply of materials for the production process and keeping the inventory cost to the minimum possible level.

To manage the systems & procedures in the site stores in order to establish unified procedures for stores management. Design and implement unified coding system for materials, formulate guidelines for classification of items to support the coding system. Establish an effective MIS and generate periodical stock statements to suit the requirements of all sections concerned, materials coding system, oversee material receipt activities in order to ensure compliance with the purchase orders and availability of items to meet any requirement for production. Follow up LPO & EMR for material delivery, receive materials, conduct preliminary check for order terms, make inwards entries in the register & quarantine the items for inspection. arrange material inspection, accept/reject the materials and make reports, arrange clearance of rejected items. Assign the item codes for the accepted items, ensure proper packing/preservation and arrange safe storage.

Maintain Tools issue register, keep custody of hired equipment on site and ensure maintenance and utilization of same, arrange delivery at work spot for selected materials and account the issues properly. Report any abnormal consumption pattern as per issue register. Oversee the inventory management in order to optimize the stock level, reduce inventory carrying costs and prevent stock out of materials. Fix maximum, minimum & reorder stock levels for materials and maintain them, arrange timely replenishment of materials, conduct inventory analysis – ABC, VED etc. Recommend EOQ (Economic Order Quantity), take stock of scrap items accumulated and arrange disposal, conduct periodical stock verification, investigate any discrepancies in book stock and physical stock and take corrective measures, Properly maintain Stores Register, Material Procurement Record, Stock verification reports ABC & VED categorization of materials, EOQ reports

Requirements

Graduate in any discipline. Candidate with Material Management qualification will be given preference. At least 15 years of Material/Store supervisory experience in GCC countries, of which minimum 5 years as Store Manager. Good communication skill (English). Knowledge in ERP/IMS and audit skill. Honest, trustworthy and must possess sound work ethics. Effective written communication skill, analytical, problem solving and decision making skill.
