Stores & Procurement Officer
The position will be responsible for the QAS Engineering Stores, inventory management and purchasing. Play an effective role in the procurement activities of QAS. Support the development of improved administrative, storekeeping, purchasing procedures and the supply chain to ensure that QAS receives a quality, responsive, cost effective and efficient supply of goods and services. Effectively manage the financial aspect of the stores, reduce obsolete stock, define min/max stock, and order quantity levels. Introduce Just-in-time processes to suit QAS operations.
•Annual Dimensions – Full management of QAS Stores
•Number of Employees (Direct/Indirect) - 13 Stores staff
•Financial Responsibilities – Control of Stores Purchasing
•Budget Responsibilities – Control of Stores Budget
•Full management responsibility for stores, inventory management, purchasing and monitor stock levels and expenditure against budget
•Play an effective role in the procurement activities of QAS. Liaison with Corporate Purchasing and Contracts as necessary
•Assist Engineering Manager in Capital Equipment purchasing.
•Support the development of improved administrative, storekeeping, purchasing procedures and the supply chain to ensure that QAS receives a quality, responsive, cost effective and efficient supply of goods and services.
•Develop and maintain professional vendor relationships at a local and international level
•Effectively manage the financial aspects of the stores, reduce obsolete stock, define min/max stock, and order quantity levels
•Introduce Just-in-time processes to suit QAS operations
•Manage the daily operation and development of the Oracle Inventory Management system. Work with IT to constantly improve the system.
•Maintain documentation of QAS Stores policies & procedures
ESSENTIAL CAPABILITIES: (Educational Qualifications/Experience/Skill/Expertise)
•A Graduate or equivalent with demonstrable experience of a Ground Support Equipment engineering stores in Purchasing, Materials Management and Supervision.
•5 or more years of experience at a Supervisory or Management level in inventory management and procurement role, preferably in the field of ground support equipment
•Proven track record in a variety of inventory management and procurement concepts, practices, and procedures
•Preferably proficient in Oracle Application, Inventory and Purchasing Module
•Computer skills - knowledge of Excel, Word, Microsoft, and PowerPoint
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as strong interpersonal skills with confidence to deal with people at all levels
