Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Functional:
1. To develop and coordinate policies and strategies for the development of departmental objectives driven from the short term organization objectives.
2. To develop and coordinate policies and strategies for the development of departmental performance indicators and local service delivery performance standards.
3. To manage, develop and organize national and local performance indicators, coordinating departmental performance within corporate plans and strategies.
4. To develop and produce departmental service plan and other plans where appropriate in liaison with senior managers and departmental staff.
5. To develop and coordinate departmental consultation activity and major projects for the current year with EPMO.
6. To manage all departmental performance issues.
7. To devise and implement policies and strategies for the development of departmental performance matters.
8. To manage, influence and motivate staff associated with performance issues.
9. To devise and implement policies and strategies for the development, implementation and monitoring of local service delivery performance standards.
10. To manage development and implementation of monitoring systems for departmental performance indicators and standards, including ensuring data quality and compliance with internal and external audit requirements.
11. To coordinate and facilitate the communication to all key managers of performance issues including the preparation of reports for managers and committees and giving presentations.
12. To represent the Authority and attend meetings at all levels in association with the above duties, in particular with managers and top management.
13. To be responsible for managing and controlling budgets and expenditure within the approved allocations of the objectives and report accordingly and if any issues.
14. To prepare and submit reports to chief strategy or top Committees in connection with the above duties.
15. To provide training and guidance to departmental staff, senior managers, members on performance and service improvement.
16. To develop and coordinate departmental consultation activity and liaise with service managers to ensure the outcomes of consultation are used to inform service improvement
17. To advise Chief strategy and senior managers of issues regarding and arising from performance and service improvement.
18. To coordinate regional performance indicator information, providing regular updates to partner authorities and coordinating regional meetings.

People Management:
1. Coach/mentor subordinates within the department in the optimisation of their personal potential so that the departments objectives are met/exceeded.
2. Schedule and conduct regular staff meetings with the team as needed.
3. Follow HR policies and procedures in all areas.
4. Develop a positive work environment and encourage team work.
5. Serve as a professional role model.
6. Evaluate subordinates performance and give them timely feed back.
7. Orient existing and new staff on the departments responsibilities, activities, initiatives and KPIs.
8. Support Emiratisation efforts as required and appropriate.

Other:
1. Prepare annual departmental budget, including manpower requirements, office infrastructure, office equipment, travel and professional development including training needs of all staff.
2. Monitor the departments expenditure against budget.
3. Follow financial and purchasing policies and procedures.
4. Attend meetings and conferences as required.
5. Keep abreast of professional developments, new techniques and current issues through continued education and professional growth.
6. Perform any other related activity as requested and within authorised policy and procedure mandate.
7. Ensure EHS compliance in the SP section.

Requirements

- Minimum: Bachelor Degree in Business Administration/Strategic Planning, or similar
- Preferred: Masters Degree in Business Administration
- 5-10 years relevant experience in strategic planning
- Global business/strategy experience with leading international business or relevant conservation/wildlife organizations preferred
