The RoleThe RoleInternational Shipyard Operator Strategic Sourcing and Contract & Supplier Management Annual Salary Package USD$98K (all inclusive) + family benefits A challenging opportunity now exists with this major shipyard operator as they are seeking to appoint a Strategic Procurement Manager based in Dubai. The role carries responsibility for the groups procurement and supply chain for their various shipyards. You will have full responsibility for planning and directing the activities of procurement of strategic materials and equipments. Responsibilities: Analyzing market and delivery systems in order to assess current and future material availability. Preparing reports regarding market conditions and merchandise costs. Resolving vendor or contractor grievances, and claims against suppliers. Identifying and qualifying potential new vendors in order to secure more cost-effective sources. Defining and managing relationship with all strategic materials and equipment suppliers to deliver breakthrough performance in cost, service and quality. Negotiating contracts and commercial terms with suppliers including long-term purchasing agreement. Producing and provide purchasing, expenditure and other data, information and statistics for management reporting and analysis. Effective and efficient management of procurement activities. Ensuring optimum use of resources, equipment and manpower. |
RequirementsRequirements Minimum 5 to 7 years in a Procurement Management role in a similar business Relevant experience of a range of procurement categories within a Shipyard, Heavy Marine/Offshore Engineering or similar business. Degree Qualified and with further professional qualifications - CIPS preferred Sound knowledge of international trade & shipping terms. Broad knowledge of computerized stock control methods & warehouse procedures. Proven experience in Strategic Sourcing and Contract & Supplier Management. Proficient in negotiating high value and / strategic agreements. Excellent command of written & spoken English and Arabic.
