Job description / Role
* Identify current status of structures works, and follow up outstanding design.
* Review and ensure completeness of design submissions in collaboration and in conjunction with PM/CM.
* May participate in negotiations with regulatory agencies in public meetings to support the client.
* In conjunction with the Civil Manager/ LREDC guidelines, provide support on optimizing processes
* Review areas of differences between Consultants and Independent Cat III Checker and provide recommendations for their resolutions.
* Review and prepare Design Briefs for the Construction Packages in conjunction with the LREDC .
* During the Concept/Schematic stage attend workshops and meetings with the aim of identifying with the Consultant Design Teams and or Contractors viable alternatives.
* Provide constructive comments by marking up drawings and design submittals documents for the consultant's considerations and actions.
* For Design and Build contracts following completion of the Concept/Schematic Design, compile the ''Employers Requirements'' for the detailed design and construction delivery.
* Work with the LREDC infrastructure Department in conducting workshops and reviews with the designers addressing items such as Constructability, Logistics, Value Engineering and confirmation of Design Responsibility.
* Review and participate in Value Management Studies to ensure optimization of Key Project Functions.
* Review and Participate in updating Lusail particular specification
* Review and Participate in Risks Studies to identify Uncertainty and subsequent Management of risks.
* Review the contractor design proposals, submittals and mock ups for compliance with the LREDC Requirements.
* Work with LREDC to manage design changes effectively by evaluation of Technical, time of proposed changes while maintaining the required quality and meeting LREDF requirements.
* Follow up with PMCM and Consultant to ensure that statutory approvals are obtained by the main consultants.
* Attend the Structural and regular design team meetings with consultants.
* Attend Site visit to consultant offices/ contractor Sites as may be required.
* Provide the construction package site teams with support if needed to review Method Statements for shoring, geotechnical and geophysical reports and checking the interface with the developer Plot.
* Review the PM/CM methodology for managing the Consultants design works.
* Review and assist in Providing responses to Request For Proposals (RFP) and preparation of Technical evaluation criteria and report.
* Participate in Design Brief writings on new works including third party checkers.
* Provide input on progress of technical report - weekly as required by Civil Manager,
* Assist in Developing and follow up tasks and duties for all members of the QPM team.
* Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
Requirements
* Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering
* Minimum of 15 years total work experience in large infrastructure project
* Has worked with Project Management or Consultancy company
