Structural Engineer (Marine Works) - Dubai, UAE

As a structural engineer you will report to and support the Resident Engineer in supervising the contractors daily activities, monitoring and reporting on quality together with documenting your findings to ensure that the work is being built in accordance with the drawings and specification (Contract). You will make the Resident Engineer aware of any defects or deficiencies that you observe in the precasting of structural elements for the quay wall.

The project comprises two main, but interconnected, elements of work:
- The construction of a 3km section of new canal waterway (width 80 and 100m) to link the existing section of canal (at Business Bay) to the coast at Jumeirah, Dubai.
- The construction of a coastal peninsular using the material from the canal excavation together with coastal protection works, beach construction together with the construction of a new coastal marina.

The canal element of the project will cross 3 major transportation corridors, pass through existing residential areas and require the co-ordination and liaison with other contractors, constructing the bridge works under a separate contacts but for the same client.

The successful liaison and coordination with stakeholders and contractors, on the high profile project(s) will be a significant contributor to the success and delivery of the overall vision

Job Responsibilities:
- Reports to the Resident Engineer / ARE
- Daily inspections of the works
- Respond to Contractors inspection notifications
- Monitoring of progress and quality
- Complete inspection reports
- Complete a daily diary and
- Record contractors progress and resources

Requirements

- Relevant recognised technical qualification
- Minimum of 10 years relevant experience
- Direct experience of working with RTA / RTA approval would be an advantage
