Structural Engineer

Job description / Role

Support the Project Manager in delivering the Operation and Maintenance Supervision contract for a major tunnel, bridge and corridor in Abu Dhabi and be responsible for the delivery of technical outputs of projects or service areas to the meet the clients requirements.

The role will involve leading delivering the necessary project outputs responsible for the delivery of technical outputs of projects or service areas to the meet the clients requirements.

Principal Accountabilities will include:
- Leading the delivery of technical structural outputs.
- Responsibility for technical excellence and innovation.
- Collaboration with other Team Managers to optimise the resource and demand balance.
- Champion Value Management / Engineering to support Project Manager in ensuring that schemes are delivered with innovation.
- Deliver improvements to SHEQ within all aspects of projects and lead task groups where appropriate to develop, communicate and implement SHEQ improvements.
- Accountable for checking, certifying and authorising for issue designs, documents, approvals, Professional Skill and Care Certificates and reports.
- Technical input to the agreement of project briefs, proposals and deliverables with Project Managers.
- Ensuring that delivery is achieved in accordance with Companys management systems including Health and Safety, project and risk management.
- Developing the talent within the Team by coaching and mentoring less experienced staff and supporting their technical career development aspirations.

Requirements

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering. 15 years min experience tunnel and Bridges experience.

Knowledge/Experience:
- Have knowledge and experience in structural engineering, including Tunnels bridges and highway structures, and be able to check and verify the technical outputs of the team prior to issue to clients.
- Knowledge and experience of the main management systems & processes used within Mouchel or a similar consultancy business.
- Leading and managing technical and project teams within a business environment.

Technical /Business Skills /Ability:
- Able to take full technical responsibility for team outputs.
- Maintenance experience an advantage.
- Must be computer literate. Ability to work without supervision essential, you will have the drive and determination to meet targets.
