Job description / Role

Structural Engineer (Qatari preference)

1. Role Objective
- Review the performance of all design Consultants and the progress of the design development activities leading to the procurement of statutory approvals, the completion of the tendering formalities and liaison with the Services Authorities, throughout the design phases of the Project, in respect of all design and technical issues pertaining to the Structural Works.

2. Detailed Roles and Responsibilities:
Know-How (for all levels)
- Review and comment upon all technical matters pertaining to design development and technical considerations including incorporation of updates as required.
- Produce review and comment upon the methodology for ensuring the production of complete and approved design, tender and contract documentation in compliance with the approved Master Schedule approved by UDC top management.
- Review Reports prepared by consultants for staged submissions for conformity to accepted design standards, compliance with statutory requirements, completeness, accuracy and inter-disciplinary coordination.
- Prepare monthly and interim progress reports to the GM highlighting the elements requiring decisions by UDC.

- To ensure that all designs are in accordance with approved codes and specifications.
- To ensure that all designs meet the statutory requirements.

- Good awareness of the construction technology and structural design software’s

Requirements

1. Educational Qualifications:
• B.SC in Civil/Structural Engineering or higher

2. Experience:
• Minimum 6 years of related work experience
• Minimum 3 years in design consultancy firms

• Full awareness of Qatar design codes, International Standards (British Standards, ACI, ASTM and the like) and local authorities.
