Employment: Full Time

The Supervisor - Laundry is primarily responsible for overall management of the laundry floor and production cycle, ensuring strict compliance to production schedules. The Supervisor allocates and manages the staff schedules for all laundry department staff and ensures all daily activities of laundry department are carried out within the required timelines. The Supervisor, ensures that all laundry policies and procedures are followed making sure linen and uniform are provide to all the user departments in Sidra Medical and Research Center.

KEY ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Supervises laundry staff in production areas within the laundry section.
- Ensures compliance with safety and productivity standards.
- Ensures that quality standards are met.
- Ensures the availability of supplies, linen and uniform at all times.
- Analyses schedules and work with tight deadlines to ensure hospital/clinical laundry requirements are met.
- Coordinates all work activities within production areas to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness
- Interacts with patients and patient flow department for assistance in bedroom requirements related to laundry & linen.
- Liaises with hospital departments to ensure that departmental laundry needs are met.
- Provides job training for laundry staff and hospital staff as needed
- Ensures that staff are fully compliant with hospital infection control policy and procedures
- Inspects articles to determine methods of cleaning requirement
- Inspects finished laundered linen and uniforms to ensure conformance to established standards
- Monitors laundry equipment performance and reports problems to the concerned departments
- Identifies and troubleshoots laundry equipment.
- Manages outsourced employees and contract staff efficiently according to department requirements.
- Prepares reports as required by the Manager - Laundry and the supply chain management.
- Manages and monitors laundry related incident reports.
- Coordinates with infection control department to ensure proper methodologies are implemented in the laundry operations.
- Prepares lists of required items for laundry operations and submits item lists to procurement.
- Ensures assigned procurements are within budget.
- Adheres to Sidras standards as they appear in the Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest policies

In view of the evolving needs and opportunities within Sidra during this pre-operational phase, this position may be required to perform other duties as assigned and reporting relationships may vary.

Requirements

- Diploma in Housekeeping / Laundry /Hospitality related fields.
- 6+ years of experience including 2+ years of progressive supervisory experience in a multi-specialty hospital domain.
- Training in laundry operations
- Training in infection control
- Demonstrated ability to work on tight schedules/deadlines.
- Demonstrated experience of working in a fast paced environment.
- Demonstrated knowledge of cleaning chemical, equipment, cleaning techniques required for hospital areas.
- Demonstrated experience of working in a laundry operation in hospitals.
- Good self-management skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
- Fluency in written and spoken English
