As the result of continuing organisational growth and extended service, we now seek a person for the role of Supervisor - Power Plant to hold this position in General Services'' business unit. Purpose: • Carryout efficient maintenance of Generators, Control Panels, MV Panels, UPS System Battery etc. • Effective Utilization of Manpower to increase productivity. • Controls the quality and ensures that the preventive & corrective maintenance is carried out as per the schedules and achieve target. • Design & Preparation of Specs and Scope of Works for replacement of Power Plant equipment in line with latest technology. • Undertakes close and regular supervision of Maintenance & project work during progress at sites. • Deployment of Mobile Generators and Monitor and co-ordinate Delivery of Diesel at various Qtel Sites Context: Engineering Service Department of Q-Tel carries out Preventive and Breakdown Maintenance of all electrical installations and equipment located at all over in Qatar, design and installation of various Power Generators, Panels and all Electrical equipment. This role works as part of the team of engineers to materialise these objectives. |
RequirementsRequirementsOverview: Preparation of Yearly & Monthly Maintenance Schedules as per manufacturers recommendations to carryout and achieve targets with effective utilization of Power Plant Staff. Guiding and providing required technical information to carryout breakdown repairs of Power Plant equipment during Callouts. Training of staff to get familiarize with new equipment. Preparation of in house designs, scope of works, specifications, drawings, sketches, BOQ etc. and supervision of the installation of Generators, Medium Voltage Panels, Duty cycle and Auto Mains Failure Control Panels, Uninterrupted Power Supply system, and all other electrical equipment Installations etc. for various technical buildings/sites/complexes. Supervision of major maintenance and trouble shooting with in-house maintenance team and external contractors. Costs & Profitability Ensures that quality materials are specified in design to ensure long lasting and trouble free service with the full documentations checked and approved as it meet with Qtel standards & requirements. Customers The role holder has interface internally and externally with Suppliers, Consultants and Contractors. Business Orientation Uses design and maintenance skills to ensure proper safety and security to equipments, sites, complexes etc. Planning & Organising Ensures the works are completed on time to meet with planned targets and quality standards with the maximum utilisation of Man power and cost effective to Qtel. Problem Solving Uses own initiative, technical experience & skills to identify and resolve the problems in the best manner. Communicating, negotiating & influencing Communicates efficiently within organization and with the project team suppliers and contractors Minimum Experience & Essential Knowledge 10-15 years of experience is required in a similar job and good knowledge of power plant and associated equipment Minimum Entry Qualifications Secondary School Certificate and Industrial Training Diploma/Certificate in Electrical Engineering SKILLS Technical & Non Technical • Operation/Maintenance and People Management skills for the day today operation of the critical Power Plant Section. • Design & Execution skills for the latest Power Plant equipment system technology. • Knowledge of Testing methodology for power plant equipment. Other Skills • Teaching skill to train staff. • Computer skills. • Knowledge of eAM Maintenance Management System. • Knowledge of maintenance spares & consumables. |
