Supply Chain Manager

Job description / Role

Manage all aspects of Supply Chain including distribution, warehousing, procurement (excluding commodities), purchasing, and administration to achieve business requirements. Optimize inventory, costs, and demand planning in order to achieve business objectives and superior customer service in accordance with company policy & procedures.

1. Implement purchase plans for packing & other related materials for short & long term supply in accordance with company strategy in order to meet business objectives & manage the order fulfilment, using the supply -v- demand process & observing supply constraints, to meet customer service level objectives & maintain customer satisfaction

2. Identify suppliers and distribution vendors, manage buying negotiations to ensure a cost effective logistics system. Match International benchmarks in pricing and distribution to control costs. Manage the company fleet & liaise with third party transportation companies to negotiate optimum rates and ensure 'on-time' delivery.

3. Set safety standards for both internal labour and outsourced labour suppliers in line with HSE to ensure compliance in order to improve quality and meet safety objectives

5. Manage the documentation for imports/exports, liaising with government agencies/ interdepartmental & in order to deliver the goods on time against receipt of a full set of clean documents

6. Collaborate with sales and demand planning functions to optimize procurement, manufacturing, inventories, and distribution.

7. Suggest training needs to develop & motivate departmental staff & monitor, through performance appraisal, to ensure performance improvement & increased efficiency to meet set objectives

8. Prepare, present & justify annual budgets for supply chain in order to measure cost effectiveness of the department & submit to management for approval

Requirements

Bachelor Degree preferably in Business Administration/Logistics/Supply Chain/Commerce
Professional membership in supply chain management such as CPP/CIPS/CIRM/CPM
Masters/MBA/Professional Post Graduate Diploma in related field would be an added advantage

8-10 years previous experience of Supply Chain, procurement, warehouse management, logistics and inventory management preferably in a manufacturing background
Previous experience of managing a large diverse workforce

Knowledge of Process Control & Material Planning Skills
Knowledge of Packaging & Chemical Industry
Knowledge of Purchase & Warehouse Operations, SKUs & Cold Storage
Knowledge of logistics operations for a large manufacturing facility
U.A.E Driving Licence
Language - English (Verbal /Written) Arabic preferable
Proficient in MS Applications
Knowledge of ERP System (Oracle)
Sound Knowledge of Supplier Management /Process Mapping / Inventory & Crisis Management
Knowledge of Overseas/International Operations Dispatch
