Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for managing the countrys product supply chain and liaises with a variety of internal and external parties, including suppliers, freight forwarders and stores to improve the level of effectiveness and efficiency of product delivery.

Defines, develops and sets up proper operations base through internal contacts with forwarding companies, clearing agents, insurance brokers, warehousing facilities and in land transportation services

Plans and monitors goods receiving and on time deliveries from landing ports and airports to warehouses, sites and storesValidates information supplied by the Regional Operations department in order to guarantee proper start-up

Manages allocated budget and expenditure in order to optimize or reduce costs where possible and reports variances to ensure effective cost management

Checks and signs any logistics invoices from third parties

Evaluates and optimises the logistics network on ongoing basis in order to ensure best services are provided to the business


Develops the business by analyzing problems, producing new solutions and preparing any supply chain simulation including cost comparison related to new brands or other.

Ensures current logistics policies and procedures are in compliance

Manages the recruitment process for department employees in order to ensure the recruitment of high caliber individuals

Maintains good relationships with customers, ministries and government authorities in order to ensure the smooth clearance of shipments .

Requirements

Bachelors degree in Business Administration.
5-6 years of relevant experience.
Multinational exposure is a plus.
In-depth professional Logistics knowledge and expertise.
Strong understanding of supply chain systems, procedures and standards. Thorough knowledge of relevant local import, export, clearance, transportation and warehousing laws, regulations and methods.
Good operational planning and problem solving skills.
Strong people management and communication skills.
Strong interpersonal, negotiation and report writing skills.
Good command of English and local language.
