Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

• Plays a key role in urban planning, infrastructure design and implementation. Responsible to survey for topography/landscape data collection, analysis and mapping for roads/ highway, drainage networks, plants, associated facilities and installation, from the earliest planning stage through to completion
• Collection phase that includes topographic mapping at a proper scale, and compilation of statuary and local maps and data of the project area. The phase is critical to the success of the project, since the planning team depend upon these data to be of reasonable degree of exactness and completeness.

• Identifies opportunities by researching information and alternatives, both in the field and in the office; interpreting data from various sources; drawing up, presenting and negotiating competitive proposals; considering the physical, environmental and social impact of the proposed development, and issues concerning sustainability
• Provides basic in-put for different projects design, implementation plans, using proper metric standards.
• Coordinates system, accuracy, drafting specifications, using technological advancements such as Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and Global Positioning Systems (GPS)
• As spatial data administrators, organizes the different, raster and vector files from the project inception till the final step of As-Build, mapping and infrastructure maintenance using GIS.
• plans and develops initial outlines, and investigates, plans, proposals to either build new developments or organize the refurbishment of existing buildings.
• Plans and develops taking into account both the physical and social impact of the built environment and the utilization/commercial viability of any proposal/ infrastructure project
• promotes the use of effective land management and administration as one of the key drivers behind economic development
• Assesses land and property use requirements, including transport and different infrastructure requirements;
• Caters for Health. Safety & Environment aspects, in accordance with approved policy & procedure
• Provides training/development to subordinates, with emphasis to Qatari National and monitors their progress

Requirements

• BSc. In Survey Engineering
• 5 years practical experience, in Government infrastructure related projects. Able to apply a digital process and information technologies for systematic data collection and Mapping.
• Good knowledge of spoken/written Arabic/English languages and related PC software
