Employment: Full Time

The Sustain Tower Lead is responsible for the day to day management of a group of Sustain tower leads who managing the daily sustain activities for software applications running in the OnStar environment. This responsibility includes managing a group of direct resources as well as managing OnStar's Sustain Supplier resources for a specific set of applications. Work involves a great deal of creativity and initiative as well as a high level of independent judgment.

•Day-to-day ownership of an OnStar application, application tower team and related supplier activities (work prioritization)
•Manage relationship and interface with Supplier Tower Leads and Supplier Manager.
•Responsible for Problem Management from Root Cause through Corrective Action implementation.
•Communicates application problems, root cause and corrective actions to Senior IT Leadership and Business Clients
•Works with business customers to align and prioritize sustain activities (CRs, defects, through-put improvements, etc)
•Manages the coordination "sustain" project activities (requirements/test cases/funding) with development teams (EOL, major upgrades, application changes due to refreshes, etc.)
•Ensure all regular maintenance activities occur like data loads, MY set-up, security audits, third party updates (COTS)
•Supports Development Activities and is involved in detailed design, programming, debugging and testing of a particularly complex system
•Supports the execution of all production deployment - Major Release, Minor Release, Emergency Changes, and Break/Fix.
•Define and implement application monitoring key performance indicators and thresh holds.
•Responsible for adherence to all applicable SOX, PCI, Security and other Corporate policies.
•Communicates to all levels of the organization.
•Responsible for application capacity planning
•Manage relationship and interface with Operations, Development and Business at the application level
•Cross vendor sustain coordination/accountability
•Leads, Reviews and signs-off on Transition to Sustain and Production Readiness of changes
•Gathers and interprets complex quantitative or qualitative data
•Handles a variety of recurring and non-recurring or special assignments
•Responsible for defining and executing course of action to accomplish completion of the job and/or project
•Maintains current Knowledge and keeps abreast of current product developments and trends in areas of expertise
•Actively identifies new areas for learning and takes advantage of learning opportunities

Requirements

Basic Skills Required
•Bachelor of Science in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field
•5 years of Information Technology experience
•5+ years experience in managing complex infrastructure and systems
•Experience with production application support
•Ability to manage complex environments
•Experience with Supplier Management in an outsourced environment
•Strong analytical & problem solving skills
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills
•High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others
•Appropriate interpersonal styles and communication methods to work effectively with business partners to meet mutual goals

Basic Skills Preferred
•Advanced degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field
•6+ years experience in managing complex infrastructure and systems
•Proven ability to adapt and implement industry-leading software processes
•Experience with information technology (IT) outsourcing and offshore development models
•Experience with supplier agreement management
•Project management certification
•Highly developed knowledge of several programming languages
•Knowledge of Intec Billing Software and Web technologies.

Programming Experience

Experience in all aspects of Information Technology including:
•Project Management (PMP Certification)
•Operations (ITIL Certification)
•Development Lifecycle
