The RoleThe RoleThe main Skills for this position are as follows: Design, install and maintain systems hardware, operating systems, telecom and storage infra structure in the data centre. Designing, planning, implementing, managing and maintaining UNIX, Linux servers environment with its network infra structure. Perform systems administration and systems tuning tasks for data centre servers: Solaris, HP-UX, Red hat and other flavors of UNIX and Linux Operating Systems. Perform Backup and restore activities using Tapes, Legato, VERITAS or any other backup built in tools (ufsdump, ignite). Implementing policies for backup management and housekeeping of all servers in the network. Perform system configuration changes in response to client requests: file systems management, disk creation, users management etc. Maintain SAN storage administration (Patch & firmware upgrade, groups and disk configuration). Cluster configuration, maintenance and administration for HP, SUN servers, Linux (Red hat). Design and Maintain systems disaster recovery plans and backups for all infra structure. Provide support for all data centre servers in 24X7X365 environment. Response and resolve problems for any unexpected calls during office and none office hours for any systems related issues and users requests Patching, OS upgrade and Security. Servers farm monitoring , Capacity Monitoring and planning Virtualization of data centre servers whenever requested or needed. |
RequirementsRequirementsPotential candidates must meet the following guidelines: 5+ years of field experience in Systems administration of UNIX and Linux Operating Systems especially in Red Hat, Solaris 9/10 and HP-UX OS. Must have Red Hat Certified Engineer Certification and must be certified in either Solaris Administration or HP-UX Operating systems. Solaris is preferred. Must be ITIL V3 certified. Strong experience in administration of web servers. Ex: apache and IIS. Strong and advanced experience with SAN switches, Storage, backup and restore management. Clustering experience, design, installation and maintain high availability of servers. Knowledge in Microsoft SQL and oracle databases. Experience in managing LDAP directories. Must have a networking knowledge. Previous exposure to server virtualization technologies and tools such as VMware or Microsoft Virtualization tools. Additional Certifications, Cisco, EMC (Virtualization), VOIP and security is a plus. The salary on offer is between 16,000-18,000 AED per month. |
