System IT & Software - Regional Manager

Job description / Role

To globally manage special environments which require advanced skills as VMWare, Storage, Data Protectors, Exchange, Blackberry, CITRIX, Linux, Unix.

To ensure that all IT network applications and systems are installed, monitored and operate effectively so as to minimize downtime to the business. To ensure all protocols relating to system security are carried out to maintain the integrity of the network and the servers.

Main Accountability:
- Ensure that VMWare is installed and working properly in company's environment
- Anticipate the growing needs and propose migration plan to adequate technologies: Storage replication
- Ensure the efficient operation of IT platform and computing infrastructure through monitoring of servers performance and system applications ensuring optimal operating efficiency and performance and minimizing downtime and disruption to the business and systems users.
- Provides proactive support to the business through effective capacity planning and change management to implement new or upgraded systems.
- Perform installation, configuration, administration and migration of network services. Install all new hardware and software for workstations servers and networks on a timely and efficient basis.
- Respond in a timely manner to server, workstation and associated operating system issues through the provision of troubleshooting, problem diagnosis and problem resolution to ensure that all problems are resolved and resolutions are appropriately documented for future reference.

Our client, a leading Multinational Insurance Company is looking to hire System IT & Software manager.
- Oversee the security of software and servers including overseeing of user accounts, user permissions, email accounts, antivirus and anti-spam systems.
- Manage all system backup and restore activities in accordance with prescribed IT protocols.
- Active participation in new projects.

Requirements

Supervisory/Managerial/Leadership Complexity:
- Manage a small team implementing systems and upgrades.
- The job holder has the responsibility to drive the team to follow best practices
- Good leadership skills
- Manage projects

Independent Thought and Judgment:
- The role is required to resolve complex technical issues under supervision of senior management.
- The role requires some independent thought and judgment, however the resolution of network, workstation and server issues is accomplished primarily through a logical and systematic approach following prescribed and documented protocols and procedures.

Area of Knowledge:
- Good knowledge of special environments as VMWare, Storage, Data Protectors, Exchange, Blackberry, CITRIX, Linux, Unix.
- A sound knowledge of network and server applications
- A sound knowledge of computer program language(s) including C# Language, VB, SQL Server and / or Oracle
- A sound knowledge of Microsoft technology (office suite, Windows and Windows Server)

Business Knowledge:
- Requires a basic knowledge of the Companys products and competitors.

Secondary or Tertiary Education:
- Graduate / diploma in Computer science
- MCSA Microsoft Certification
- CISCO Network qualifications (CCNA / CCNP)
- VMWare qualification.
- MS Exchange
- Storage technology
- Unix, Linux

No. of Years Experience:
- 6+ years experience in a system and network implementation environment.
