System Security Engineer / Project Engineer - Dubai

The Security Systems Engineer/Project Engineer will be part of the installation team providing support to the Project Manager in-line with project specification and requirements. The individual will be responsible to provide effective engineering coordination of local workers, ensuring that work is implemented as per designs and in the most cost effective manner. They will ensure that work is progressed as rapidly as possible within a safe environment, meeting project deadlines.

The company undertake large integrated security projects which involves the installation of security equipment, construction of control rooms, perimeters, entry control solutions and Fiber optic cabling to name a few.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
- First and Second fix installation of all physical security components including cable, containment and electronically/mechanical devices
- Read and interpret instructions/documentation and planned work activities
- Document and create detailed implementation plans for system installations
- Coordinate subcontractors resource for the installation, commissioning, and testing of telecommunications and security systems installations
- Undertake technical investigations to enable the resolution of problems found during telecommunications, network & security system installations and commissioning
- Escalation of issues to Works Package Managers where necessary.
- Responsibilities to be part of HSE team and ensure all personnel comply with HSE requirements
- Monitor the workmanship and performance of the installation and ensure it meets the companies high standards.
- To maintain at all times client confidentiality and act with discretion and a high level of personal integrity.
- To support the Group in any other tasks and responsibilities as may reasonably be expected.
- To undertake additional tasks as assigned to you by your line manager or a senior member of the project team
- To provide out of hours support in the event of unplanned / unforeseen events
- To assist the project manager with contractual and commercial situations as required.
- In the PMs absence to ensure the project and workforce adhere to the program, specification and site specific HSE policies.

Requirements

- Excellent technical / product knowledge of all types of security systems and solutions
- 5+ years experience within the physical and electronic security industry
- Demonstrate previous experience of Installation within a technical environment
- Knowledge and experience of Security and IT environments, including:
- CCTV
- IT networking
- Access control
- Long range cameras Thermal Imaging
- Fibre Optics
- Security Command Centers
- Ability to understand and apply project documentation, including:
- Technical Standards
- Manufacturers Product Specifications
- Customer Requirement Documents
- Design, Quality & Performance Specifications
- Safety, Reliability & Regulatory Standards
- Demonstrate ability to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes and work cooperatively in conjunction with Clients, colleagues and subcontractors to provide quality seamless service between all parties
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to maintain a constant high level of attention to detail
- High level of self-motivation and an ability to work from own initiative with limited supervision, in high pressure situations
- Strong team player who can communicate, motivate and interact effectively with technical, commercial and support staff team-members
- Ability to quickly develop professional and trusted relationships with a variety of cultures and clients
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (Written and Oral)
- Intermediate user in MS Word, Excel, MS Project, PowerPoint and Visio
- To maintain at all times client confidentiality and act with discretion and a high level of personal integrity.
- To support the company in any other tasks and responsibilities as may reasonably be expected.
- Experience of working in the GCC region is preferable
- Electronics / Electrical / Security &/or IT qualifications preferred
- Proven track record in large project engineering & delivery of technology-led solutions
- Must be willing to work in Iraq/Afghanistan, UAE and GCC.
- Must be an expert in LENEL Access Control and CCTV
- No specific place of work as the location will be dependent on operation requirements
- Must be fluent (read and write) English and Arabic is an advantage.
