The Role


SYSTEMS DEVELOPER will be involved in the development of systems and applications and for provision of application support. You will poses advanced analytical and application development skills while working on ERP’s of repute. Working knowledge on Tier1 / 2 ERP systems is a must.

The Systems developer is also required to conduct feasibility studies, gather business requirements, prepare functional specifications, identify and agree business processes with the team and provide remedial action when required.
The position will be based in Duqm, our project site. The individual should have at least 6 years of experience in the field of systems /Application development, systems implementation, Support, liaising /handholding other developers.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• To develop software in accordance with the project process, producing all relevant documentation.
• To define full user requirements in specific application areas working from minimal specifications to fully workable, enterprise solutions.
• To substantively contribute to software development methodology to achieve the optimal applications capability, development productivity, maintainability and performance.
• Responsible for designing, developing, unit /system / integration testing, documentation and implementation of existing ERP /new systems under the direction of manager /Systems Analyst.
• Complete understanding of Web development technology and techniques
• Performance tuning of application systems and resolving bottlenecks.
• Experience in more than one recognized ERP solutions such as Oracle suite, Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains, Navision etc. and other Production /service Management Systems
• Expert knowledge of Oracle Database 10 /11g
• System integration, interfaces, customizations, or complete applications development.
• Support of production systems in terms of problem analysis and solution development.
• Database system support in terms of monitoring, reporting.
• Train more junior staff and other team members as appropriate
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

He /She must have the following skills:-
• Working knowledge and strong experience on ERP systems
• Strong experience in a Windows /Unix environment
• Essential Skills include:
- ASP.NET
- Oracle /SQL
- One of more of Microsoft Visual Studio, Visual Basic, JavaScript or C is essential.
• Awareness of Web-Based Applications
• Expert level knowledge of software development technologies (development tools, programming languages, decision-support, web, etc.),
• Expert level knowledge and skills on software development that include design concepts and development methodologies
• hands-on knowledge of at least one Microsoft /Oracle supported development environment, development toolset, and application area.

EDUCATION:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Microsoft /Oracle certifications required

Oman Drydock Company S.A.O.C. (ODC) has been established in September 2006 by the Government of Sultanate Oman (GOSO) with its 100% stake under the Master Plan of Duqm area which is propelling by GOSO to aim diversification of industry structure and regionally balanced growth in Oman.
