Job description / Role
Function:
To lead the analysis and planning of information technology projects, re-engineering of business processes in line with best-in-class international practices, gathering business requirements for banking systems and applications, providing guidance for the implementation of internal/external systems.
To lead the business requirements gathering, vendor and production selection, system implementation as per the banks standard procedure and policies.
User support for software applications, manage vendor service performance so as to ensure that the IT service is delivered effectively and efficiently and business processes across functions are automated and integrated optimally.
JOB PURPOSE:
To lead business analysis, vendor / product selection, requirement documentation, user testing coordination, implementation coordination of systems, vendor management, support of banking applications to ensure that the IT service is delivered effectively and efficiently in compliance with policies, procedures, standards and guidelines and business needs and business processes are automated and integrated optimally.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Reengineering of business processes in line with best-in-class international practices

To manage system support in core banking Business Applications for nearly 500 users

To assist Senior Manager-IS in strategic/tactical issues.
• Assistance in preparation of Departmental MIS

JOB CONTEXT:
The job holder would need to co-ordinate with various departments on business analysis, product selection, implementation (requirement analysis, testing etc), support, problem management and enhancement for successful delivery and ongoing performance.

Requirements:
Education level
MBA / CA / Bachelors Degree in Engineering / Masters in Computer Applications from a recognised institute / university
Additional qualifications in Information Systems / Technology
Professional Qualifications
PMP/COBIT/ITIL Certification is preferred but not essential.
Work Experience
6-8 years of experience in a banking / financial environment are pre-requisites for this role. Experience should cover:
Banking Operations > 4 years
Business Analysis > 4 years
Project Management > 3 years
People Management > 3 years
Experience in an IT organization or a consulting organization or a leading bank is essential.
Experience with T24 is a must
Specialist Skills/Competencies Required for the Role
Business Analysis:
• Should be well-conversant with software development life cycle and should be able to lead a team to analyse, document and communicate the business requirement in the area of corporate and retail banking in a systematic way.
• Knowledge of banking products, accounting rules, regulatory requirements is expected. Good knowledge of internet banking, GL system and workflow procedures including Finance, Product Control, Accounts Payable, Nostro Reconciliation etc. is expected.
• Knowledge of SSAD / OOAD (Entity relationship diagram, data flow diagram, control-state diagram) is expected.
Business Processes
Should be familiar with practices in the area of corporate and retail banking
Project Management
• Should be able to manage small projects with tight deadlines and budgets. Knowledge of project estimation, risk analysis and formal project planning is essential
• Should be able to work with and appraise people of different demographic profiles
Technical
• Familiarity with web architecture
• Working knowledge of Unix / Windows platforms, shell scripts
• Expert knowledge in SQL and enterprise RDBMS
• Familiarity with both Object-oriented analysis and SSAD
• Experience in supporting third-party application and working with the vendor based on SLA
• Exposure to unit/module/integration testing
• Familiarity with BASEL II requirements
• Familiarity with international standards such as ITIL/CMMI/ISO
• Familiarity with IT audit processes
• Exposure to documentation skills
• Familiarity with Change Management, Configuration Management, Problem Management Procedures
