Job description / Role

To coordinate the provision of technical support to QAPCOs existing and potential Lotrene LDPE & LLDPE products customers, including providing full advice on applications. To handle and investigate customers claims and complaints regarding product quality and processing problems. To introduce new Lotrene LDPE& LLDPE products grades advising quality specifications requirements and following up on its performance.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Establishes technical contacts with QAPCOs customers through periodic visits, in coordination with Sales Department. Performs technical surveys in QAPCOs Marketplace in order to determine the technical needs of the market.
- Proposes LDPE & LLDPE products development and production of new products to fulfill the customers needs and market demands in liaison with Sales Dept.
- Prepares, arranges and executes technical presentations and seminars to QAPCOs customers and other plastics processors to promote and introduce Lotrene LDPE & LLDPE grades to those converters.
- Plans, organizes and manages training programs for QAPCOs customers whenever needed to enable them to use LOTRENE LDPE & LLDPE products more effectively and introduce new applications.
- Revises, updates and follows up product technical data sheets of existing LOTRENE LDPE & LLDPE grades and prepares new ones for new grades. Prepares and issues technical documents related to LDPE&LLDPE characterization, application and processing and provides QAPCOs customers with those documents.
- Liaises with the production in charge to plan, study and implement the necessary process conditions modification in order to improve the existing LOTRENE & LLDPE product and introduce new grades to fulfill the market demands.
- Investigates customers claims internally by checking all production, quality control, packaging, shipping etc. records in order to trace the cause, if any, prepares the necessary reports and suggests the necessary corrective action, modification and improvement.
- Collects information on technical and business interests for LDPE& LLDPE application including competitors products and suggests with Sales department the strategy for product development and modification.
- Handles technical enquiry from the customers and provides the customer with technical information related to a particular process, application, Lotrene LDPE & LLDPE properties or any of the technical matters.
- Handles sample request from the customers and selects suitable Lotrene LDPE & LLDPE grade for the customer application. Follows up with the customer the outcome of the trial of Lotrene sample.

Requirements

- BSc. in Chemistry or equivalent.
- 8 years of experience in LDPE & LLDPE Applications, processing or LDPE QC laboratory.
- Fluency in both written and spoken English, Computer Literate

About the Company

QAPCO was established in 1974 as a joint multinational venture to utilise the associated and non-associated Ethane gas from petroleum production in line with the industrialization plan of the State Qatar. it is one of the Companies located in the Mesaieed Industrial City (MIC), producing fertilizers, steel, refined petroleum products and natural gas liquids. QAPCO plant is situated on the seacoast with jetty facilities and exports its entire range of products worldwide. QAPCO commenced commercial production in 1981 and within a short time, was well-established in the global market due to its quality and reliability. To pursue leadership, continuous improvement, process and system orientation, involvement of the people and measurement of performance in support of our journey to achieve excellence of performance, we have re-designed our Quality Management System to comply with the requirements of ISO 9001:2000 standard, implemented it in our practice and achieved the official certification to its requirements by beginning of the year 2002.

The main products of the company are Ethylene and LDPE. Solid sulphur is generated as a by-product in the process. The required feedstock, Ethane gas, is supplied by the state-owned Qatar Petroleum (QP) for the production of Ethylene, a significant part of which is then used in the production of various grades of LDPE, marketed under the LOTRENE brand name.

QAPCO built its vision on a solid foundation of state-of-the-art technology, which will make possible a succession of new generation products. Our manufacturing facilities consist of an Ethylene plant with a designed annual capacity of 525,000 MT, two LDPE plants with a total annual capacity of 360,000 MT and a Sulphur plant with an annual rated capacity of 70,000 MT besides the self-sufficient utilities, plants and other offsite and auxiliary facilities. The capacity of both Ethylene and LDPE plants increased to these levels effective from mid-1996 as a result of an expansion project undertaken by the Company during 1993-95.
