Employment: Full Time

CfBT is in negotiation with the Ministry of Higher Education in Libya to set up 2 teacher training colleges within the Universities of Tripoli and Benghazi. The aim is to equip new teachers with modern skills, in order to raise the standard of English-language teaching in government schools (grades 1-9).

Requirements

We now need to recruit eight Teacher Trainers, four (3 teachers/teacher trainers and 1 senior teacher/ teacher trainers) for each centre for a 1 year contract (potentially renewable) to start in September 2012.

The programmes will be quite small initially, with approximately 60 students in the first cohort at each college. The students will be able to follow 2 distinct courses, with roughly half taking a two year Certificate and the other half taking a three year Diploma. The focus in the first year will be on language skills but, as the course progresses, the emphasis will change towards methodology. Most trainers will be, required at some time during the two or three year course, to monitor their students during their teaching practicums in schools.

Essential:
Experience in teacher training
At least 3 years teaching experience in EFL
Qualifications: English Language teaching qualification; DELTA, TESOL or equivalent level

Desirable:
Experience of living and working within the MENA region
Experience with young learners (CELTA YL)
English Language Degree
Ability to teach linguistics
