Teaching Assistant

Job description / Role

The Teaching Assistant role is key in supporting the achievement of pupils in school by supporting the class teacher in the following activities to deliver the school curriculum:
-Daily planning for pupils activities in the classroom
-Preparing of materials, equipment and any other resources required for daily and weekly use
-Assisting with cleaning and tidying of materials and classroom at the end of the day
-Assisting with learning activities which require pairs or small group organization
-Writing notes as required to record children's ability
-Supervising and accompanying pupils around school to specialist lessons,facilities, nurse and any activity as required ensuring child safety is paramount
-Attending regular staff meetings
-Participating in Professional Development as required
-Supervising in the playground as required during school time
-Supervising and supporting pupils in the event of any emergency
-Attending weekly school Assembly
-Assisting with pupils during excursions outside the school
-Assisting and organizing of after school activities as required
-Assisting in designated classroom in order to support any school staff member absence

Requirements

Candidates should ideally have experience of working in an educational institution and hold a degree qualification.
Desirable to have any teaching related experience or qualification.
Candidates should relate well to both children and adults and have strong communication and listening skills.
Team working, flexibility and adaptability with sensitivity to the needs of children are critical to the requirement of this role.
