We currently seek a professional to take on a senior leadership position as the Technical Director - Transport Planning. By joining WSP you will be exposed to the full breadth of our Middle East business, helping to deliver the same high standard of problem solving and innovation in the transport industry that has established WSP as the lead consultancy in this field.

As the Technical Director - Transport Planning, you will be accountable for the strategic leadership, direction, operational performance and people leadership of the business unit. Your focus will be split between, but not limited to:

- Leading a dynamically growing transport planning team
- Technical leadership of a varied project portfolio ranging from large multi-disciplinary projects to specialist transport studies
- Proactively supporting and driving business development of the transport planning business and supporting the wider business development initiatives
- Ensuring that health & safety is embedded into the project life cycle
- Demonstrating a high degree of commercial and financial knowledge and awareness to ensure the successful delivery of projects.

Requirements

Your main expertise shall be in the field of transport although it would be preferential if you can demonstrate a good level of experience in the fields of highways and infrastructure design. In order to be successful in this role you will have the following skill and experience:

- Chartered engineer with a bachelors degree in civil engineering with 15 years post graduate experience as a minimum
- Member of associated Professional body
- Experience and proven ability to lead and manage large transport related projects
- Experience in both public and private sector projects
- Ability to progress projects successfully to tight timescales and budget constraints
- Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with the team and the clients
- Ability to effectively manage time, multi-task, and pay close attention to details
- Excellent grasp of project management including financial control of projects.
