Job description / Role
The Technical & Estimation Engineer shall be working in assistance with the Engineering Manager of the Company. His roles and responsibilities are as mentioned below:
Roles and Responsibilities:
Scrutiny of tender documents
Evaluating tender documents, drawings & schedules
Floating enquiries to Suppliers / Manufacturers
Comparison studies based on suppliers quotations
Negotiations with suppliers on both technical and commercial aspects of products.
Based on Clients budget constraints for any specific project, carrying out Value Engineering studies.
Maintaining ISO documentation, Record Keeping, Suppliers/Manufacturers Data Bank records.
Delegating Draftsmen for quantity take offs, cross checking quantities.
Prepare commercial and technical bid proposal documentation to ensure all systems and components of the tender requirement. Assisting in compiling of tenders.
Preparation of most competitive quotation for various projects as per detailed drawings, BOQ and specifications
Making Pre-Qualification documents, both standards as well as project specific questionnaires
Review estimates to ensure accuracy, completeness and compliance with defined scope of works.
Support technically in review of design packages and drawings.
Study and interpret engineering drawing and technical specifications to develop manufacturing process flows.
Process submittals, RFIs and Changes Updating civil/structural drawings and prepare methods statements, procedures and guidelines and handle drawings allocation systems.
Discuss with Project Managers, line Supervisors and or Client for all civil/structural issues and recommends appropriate technical advises to complete the specific areas of works.
Estimate man-hour, duration and resources required for various activities.
Preparation Estimate Summary, Cash flow & Histograms for Management approval.
Maintain correspondence with the client and other stakeholders in the project.
Prepare Handover Documents and provide Techno-commercial assistance during the execution stage (if required)
Requirements
B.E. in Engineering.
3 to 5 years relevant experience in Technical & Estimation field.
Fluency in Arabic & English is a must.
Should have a transferable visa.
Should have good organizational and planning abilities including the ability to deal with/work under pressure and tight deadlines.
Should have strong analytical / problem solving abilities.
Should have strong interpretation and presentation capabilities.
Should have strong influencing skills.
