Job description / Role
Millar Cameron are an international recruitment consultancy, working extensively in the functional solutions and food ingredients market internationally. We are currently representing a leading multinational company, who are currently recruiting for a Technical Manager for their business in the Middle East and Africa region.
This position will be responsible for supporting the business both in the laboratory, and directly to the customer, and so will require travel in the region. This is a highly technical position, so experience working with food ingredients or functional solutions is a prerequisite.
Technical Manager responsibilities:
- Technical implementation and troubleshooting of products, directly with the customer
- Compile and issue monthly reports to line manager
- Understand, utilize, and update the company technical tools
- Establish and maintain strong relationship with internal and external customers
- Complete the marketing responsibilities as required
- Monitor competitor activity and recommend strategies for increasing market share
- Provide technical support and product training for colleagues, distributors and customers
- Participate and support in exhibitions, workshops and seminars
- Liaise with regional and global technical and sales managers
- Provide technical assistance to the applications team
- Monitor the dispatched samples to customers and assure trials and reports are obtained
- Monitor and interpret laboratory projects to support ongoing sales activities
- Prepare material for and take part in distributor training sessions and assist in promotional events
Requirements
- Relevant tertiary education - either in biochemistry, microbiology, food science or food technology is preferred
- English fluency
- Experience in product development, technical support or R&D
- A background in food ingredients (e.g. emulsifiers, enzymes, stabilisers, cultures, proteins)
