Job description / Role
My client is a leading contractor in Qatar. They are currently looking for a Technical Manager- Infrastructure & Roads to lead their team in Doha.
As a Technical Manager, you will be reporting to the Project Director and will support him in reviewing and dealing with technical issues.
You will also have extensive contacts with the client and consultants.
Responsibilities:
Assist, review and follow up of in house development of shop drawings.
Review and resolve interdisciplinary technical issues to ensure most effective and efficient design is adopted.
Assist and conduct technical coordination meetings among engineers of different trades.
Recommend value engineering solutions when required and applicable.
Liaise and coordinate with procurement engineers to make sure that all the finishing materials that will be ordered / purchased are conforming to specifications.
Prepare monitoring tools such as lists of shop drawings with associated time for documents completion and providing efficient strategies to finalize, in timely manner, details that should be coordinated and shared with the different engineering trades.
Prepare material samples for the client and designer review.
Requirements
Degree in Civil Engineering
Circa 10 years of experience in infrastructure/ roads
Strong design review experience
Strong experience working with contractors
Experience in the GCC is a must
Strong communication skills- fluent in English
Strong personality
