Job description / Role
Reporting in to the Head of the Technical Centre, the Technical Manager is responsible for the technical service to customers across parts of the MEA for Paints & Coatings, looking to improve and develop products in conjunction with the R&D team. Specific responsibilities include:
* Improves & develops guide formulations of water borne paints and coatings
* Keeps guide formulations updated in accordance with existing raw materials in the market
* Conducts competitor analysis and supports launch of new products
* Technically evaluates development products in paints and coatings, particularly in relation to the MEA Market.
* Offers technical support to customers with existing products and by introducing new products
* Performs any trainings required for internal and external customers
* Participates on customer marketing visits with the S&M Team
* Guarantees the health & safety management of the paints and coatings laboratory
* Ensures suitable operation and maintenance of all Laboratory equipment
* Prioritizes and supervises lab work
* Keeps complete accurate files of all relevant documentation in accordance with ISO 14001, ISO9001, & ISO 17025
Requirements
Candidates should hold a minimum of a Bachelors degree in scientific subject, preferable Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or Material Sciences. You must have a strong background in water based paints & coatings with 3-5 years offering technical expertise to customers (it is essential that you feel comfortable and have experience of being customer facing, and not R&D ) . Candidates should be self-motivated, organised and have staff supervision experience.
NB This role requires travel across the MEA region - upto 50%
