Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

* Ensure timely and accurate design work on sites by coordinating, monitoring and managing design / supervision consultants through the discipline design team; liaise with Design Consultant to ensure complete satisfaction on design related aspects of the Project on site.
* Ensure all design works are comprehensive and discussed with the project engineers for the best implementation and installation of services in coordination with all parties and contractor.
* Ensure the completeness, clearness, Safety and constructability of the design works that will be transferred to the construction stage.
* Manage the Project Technical Team, to ensure the correctness and completeness of design/construction aspects as well as scope compliance.
* Coordinate and interact closely with the Project Manager, Construction Manager and Site Engineers to get all site design work reviewed and approved.
* Review and endorse all Contractors' technical submittals (Proposals, Materials, Method statements, etc.) and make recommendations to LREDC on its suitability of contracts.
* Coordinate closely with LREDC and Stake Holders to manage Statutory Authorities requirements.
* Evaluate and endorse the variation orders/concession requests submitted by the Consultant/Contractor for LREDC's approval.
* Advise LREDC on design issues and remedial actions in case of deviations areas/concern and recommended plans of actions.
* Evaluate and reply on all technical quarries raised by Consultant/Contractor and make recommendations on its suitability of contracts
* Attend/Facilitate meetings with Consultant(s), Sub-consultants and LREDC to review design document and take decisions, as required.
* Synergize with the Project commissioning team to ensure that built infrastructure is meticulously tested and commissioned to deliver world class standards of quality.
* Maintain LREDC liaison throughout the Project to ensure Client satisfaction with technical work progress.
* Carry out goal setting and appraisals for team members.
* Conduct regular site walkabout to monitor on going infrastructure work.
* Preparation of drafts for decisions to be approved by LREDC.
* Maintain awareness of industry trends, methodologies, tools, templates and best practices in Project management in relation to design engineering.
* Adapt good practices for continuous improvement.
* Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate
* Hands-on experience in the Design and Construction of: Bridges, Highway, Traffic Management & Logistics, Infrastructure including Wet and Dry Utilities and Major Underground Structures.Should also be fully aware of the Different Authorities and Statutory Requirements in GCC Countries.

Requirements

* Management skills and PMP certification are preferable.
* 4-year degree in civil engineering or equivalent degree.
* Chartered Engineer from recognized professional body.
* 20 years post-graduate experience in Design /construction of large infrastructure projects.
* Knowledge of Highway civil design, mechanical, electrical and instrumentation.
* Proven ability to perform key management role.
* Thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations.
* Knowledge of current technology and its effective use on the project.
* Excellent English written and oral communication
