Job description / Role
The Technical Manager will be responsible for all engineering deliverables and must ensure they are delivered accurately and within defined deadlines. The Technical Manager will work closely with the project management team as well as design team to ensure they proactively tackle any engineering difficulties that may occur. This role would be ideal for an engineering professional who has a solid understanding of design practices (design codes, drawings etc.).
Responsibilities:
- Consult with technical and design teams to ensure all technical and engineering activities are being done on schedule
- Provide technical support for all stages of construction
- Preparation of technical reports highlighting key areas to be focused on
- Review all drawings and concepts and highlight any areas that may potentially contain issues
- Lead design team on all technical aspects
Requirements
- Degree qualified in Bachelors in Civil/Structural/Marine Engineering; Masters degree would be an added advantage
- Minimum 10 years experience with proven experience in infrastructure projects (ideally in marine projects within the GCC)
- Project experience: ports and marine is a must
- Willing to travel to Eastern and Western Provinces
- Experience with leading design teams and well acquainted with design terminology, concepts and codes
- Well versed with technical writing
- Overseeing of, and collaboration with, all project management teams
- Knowledge of the principal major forms of contract
