Employment: Full Time

The Technical Project Manager manages IT specific deliverables for Group IT. The role involves managing a number of projects concurrently including a major FX program aimed at improving competitiveness in FX across the bank, an international expansion program to rollout Murex to international offices and potentially other projects involving Risk Management.

The role requires a strong skillset and background in software development projects (working across the SDLC). Experience is also essential in FX and electronic trading / ecommerce. Any experience with Murex, core banking systems and banking delivery channels would be highly beneficial. A background within banking, consulting or financial technology vendors with good domain knowledge wholesale banking business and technology is essential.

The Technical Project Manager will ensure projects follow Group ITs policies and procedures for ensuring projects are delivered correctly, providing visibility of issues and escalating to management where required.

The role involves working with multiple teams across the front, middle and back office including senior management and business / client facing users. This role offers excellent exposure to business end users on one of the highest priority programs in the bank working within an elite highly respected team.

Requirements

1. A minimum 10 years professional experience including 6 years as an IT Project Manager within capital markets / global markets involving software development projects e.g. real time trading, treasury and risk systems.
2. Responsible for functional and technical elements of projects and change requests. Comfortable working across multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing workload accordingly. Comfortable working with business end users such as traders and sales in a high pressure dynamic environment.
3. Working closely with Business Analysts to ensure the project plan is realistic, dependencies and risks are identified, ensuring the project execution deliverables stay on track and proactively highlighting issues and risks. Experience working on Waterfall delivery software development projects is essential. Certification or experience working with structured project management methodologies such as PMP or PRINCE2 is desired.
4. Managing vendors such as Market Data vendors (Thomson Reuters and Bloomberg) and Core Banking vendors. Ensuring vendors and consultants requirements are clear, are executed correctly and in a timely manner and providing visibility via reporting and escalating issues to vendor and IT management when required.
5. Dealing with a variety of stakeholders to ensure project bottlenecks are unblocked including technical, business and people issues. Adapt at problem solving, thinking outside the box and a high attention to detail are essential.
6. Working closely with developers and testers to ensure technical requirements are understood, build activities are delivered as per the project plan and testing is conducted as per bank quality standards.
7. Responsible for planning and executing deployment, working with operational teams to handover to go live and post production support, change requests and post-project reviews.
