Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

As a Technical QA Consultant you will fulfill the Motive QA duties in relation to the deployment of Alcatel Lucent Motive's suite of products for various customers.

Were seeking candidates with very solid experience in QA of J2EE and web applications in general, with the ability to systematically define and execute on test cases.

You will be expected to participate with a team of other experts throughout the software development lifecycle, specifically executing on the QA activities.

Responsibilities:
- Delivers Professional Services to sound technical, business and professional standards while ensuring strong customer satisfaction and success.
- Reviews use case documentation from a QA perspective.
- Writes test cases against the use case documentation.
- Executes test cases as required.
- Recommends ways to improve the QA process, particularly through automation.
- Records issues in JIRA.
- Communicates with the Customer on issue status in relation to user acceptance testing.
- Helps ensure that Professional Services revenue is realized and that projects are completed on time and on budget.
- Protects and furthers the Companys excellent service reputation

Requirements

- 5+ years software QA experience.
- Experience with the professional services project lifecycle (scoping, requirements, construction, QA/test)
- Some experience as a software developer strongly preferred
- Familiarity with the following domains:
- J2EE (Java, JSP, Servlets) with one of the following application servers
- Weblogic Application Server
- JBoss Application Server
- Websphere Application Server
- Oracle Database or mysql Database (knowledge of database design and schemas)
- HTML, DHTML with javascript
- Web Services, XML and XSLT
- Networking (knowledge of TCP/IP, SSL, HTTP, Routing, etc)
- MVC frameworks (Struts, Velocity or similar)
- Unix (Solaris or HP-UX)
- Industry knowledge of Telecommunications related consumer products a plus
- Excellent problem solving skills
- Understanding of Call Center operations a plus
- Broadband transport technology a plus
- Strong English written and verbal communications skills
