Technical Sales Manager - Food Ingredients

Millar Cameron are an international recruitment consultancy, working extensively in the functional solutions and food ingredients market internationally. We are currently representing a leading multinational company, who are currently recruiting for a Technical Sales Manager for their business in the Middle East and Africa region.

This position will be responsible for supporting the business across the region, by way of sales and technical support to the existing customer base. The position will also be responsible for business development and securing further revenue. It will require extensive travel around the region, based out of their office in Dubai.

Technical Sales Manager responsibilities:
- Deliver the sales as budgeted for and provide accurate reporting
- Compile and issue monthly reports to line manager
- Prepare sales budget material
- Maintain profit and margin value above the targets for the designated region
- Establish and maintain strong relationship with distributors to observe, interfere, and improve sales with indirect customers
- Implement sales and marketing plans, complete marketing responsibilities when required
- Maintain communications with customer service to ensure adequate stock levels
- Cooperate with finance department to assure payments from customers are done within payment terms
- Monitor competitor activity and recommend strategies for increasing market share
- Provide technical support and product training for colleagues, distributors and customers
- Participate and support in exhibitions, workshops and seminars, and roadshows
- Monitor the dispatched samples to customers and assure trials and reports are obtained
- Monitor and interpret laboratory projects to support ongoing sales activities

Requirements

- Relevant tertiary education either in biochemistry, microbiology, food science or food technology is preferred
- English fluency
- Sales experience is preferred
- A background in food ingredients (e.g. emulsifiers, enzymes, stabilisers, cultures, proteins)
- The ability to travel extensively in the region
