Technical Service Representative - Aluminium Products

Job description / Role

The client is a global leader in the production of Aluminium. They are on the lookout for a Technical Service Representative to cover the Middle Eastern, African and Indian markets in the field of rolled aluminium products. The main purpose of the position is to build and maintain relationships with customer production plants to achieve customer delight. The role will be based out of their Dubai office but there will be frequent world wide travel involved, around 75% of time will be spent outside the UAE.

Purpose
- To build and maintain relationships with customer production plants to achieve customer delight in our CBS/CES/CTS products and services.
- Visit customer production plants regularly both in response to issues and pro-actively
- Provide regular, timely two way communication between us and our customer plants
- Represent us to our customers production plants on topics such as product specification design, product quality, product runability, product/performance claims, customer line optimization, and cost reduction projects.
- Represent our customers on topics such as product specification design, product quality, product runability, product/performance claims, customer line optimization, and cost reduction projects.
- Act as a partner to our sales representatives and customer service representatives in anticipating, preventing and resolving all types of customer issues
- Collect and communicate market intelligence to our business development team

Job Context & Major Challenges
- Extensive travel - 75% of the time
- Assuming responsibility for areas of our product and services that that jobholder does not hold specific responsibility for the success or failure (ie. Product quality, product delivery, supply chain, etc)
- The Face of our company to our customers. Representing the four regions globally
- Understanding both our production process and our customers production process at a level where communication and analysis of the interaction between the two is possible
- Ability to communicate / represent a situation fairly and clearly both internally and externally
- Ability to turn analysis into recommendations
- Ability to operate in both contentious and harmonious situations
- Engineering degree is optimal
- Production experience in Aluminium rolling or Can or End making is optimal
- Quality control experience is optimal
- Primary language required is English - (Arabic second language is optimal)

Requirements

Principal Accountabilities:
- Responsible for providing field technical services to can production plants in a specific geographic region to achieve customer delight
- Visiting customer locations to understand customer requirements, specifications, resolve issues, provide proactive support, attend trials, etc
- Provide two way communication between us and customer production facilities
- Develop a relationship with plant personnel that allows for open and honest communication during times of harmony and times of contention
- Quickly and fairly manage quality claim issues to satisfaction of both customer and us.
- Providing us with adequate market intelligence around customer activities, growth, local market conditions, customers customers, competition, etc.
- Work in full cooperation with our sales, solution center, production and customer service to represent a full team approach to the customers
- Design, lead and execute joint cost saving projects with customer plants
- Maintain team measurables for VOC, VOB, Safety, Project work, etc
