Technician - Electrical Equipment

Job description / Role

A leading governmental organization based in Abu Dhabi is looking to recruit experienced electrical equipment technicians to join their dynamic team of professionals. The desired candidates must have experience with industrial equipment electrical systems maintenance.

The electrical equipment technician will be responsible for performing all electrical repairs, cleaning, maintenance and installation of various Industrial Equipments and Systems. This includes, but not limited to the diagnosis and troubleshooting of interfacing between electrical and mechanical or hydraulic systems. The role will also be responsible for performing work as per assignments provided through the work order and/or verbal communication. The role should perform quality work as part of the ISO 9001 program.

Major Duties and Responsibilities include:
- Required to perform diagnoses and troubleshooting of electrical control panels and power circuits, repair, clean, maintain and install a wide variety of various industrial equipment such as compressors, saws, pressing machines, shearing machines, sandblasters, cleaning machines, cranes, lifting jacks, machines tools, water pumps, sweepers, test benches, welding equipment, boilers, dynamometers, electroplating systems, CNC machine etc.
- Required to perform diagnoses and troubleshooting of electrical systems, repairs and maintenance of general workshop previously installed systems such as water pumps, exhaust systems, etc.
- Maintain a safe working environment at all times through strict adherence to the rules and regulations. Follow the safety procedures such as proper use of PPE and follow the safety instructions provided in the technical manuals etc.
- Assist the senior with the building of Job Plans and preparing hand sketches for various electrical work using charts, past experience and OEM technical manuals.
- Assist the senior with identifying the required spares for electrical equipment maintenance, repairs and installation.
- Assist the senior in making sure that all electrical systems, tools, instruments and high value property are maintained in a serviceable condition, routinely inventoried and constantly safeguarded.
- Adhere to safety practices, housekeeping standards and environmental controls at the highest level at all time.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Senior Supervisor, Equipment Maintenance.

Requirements

- 2 years certificate and/or Technical Training in Electrical or other equivalent branch is required.
- 2-3 years of work experience in maintenance of industrial equipment electrical systems is required.
- Proficiency in performing Electrical work, troubleshooting and conducting repairs as necessary using standard materials and tools is required.
- Ability to read, write and speak good English is preferred.
- Previous Military experience in advantageous.
