Telecom Data Center Engineer

Job description / Role

My client is looking for a Telecom Data Center Engineer to join their team in Dubai who is willing to work in shift basis. The ideal candidate will have experience in the Data Center Building Management System (BMS). You will be responsible for managing the installation, repair and maintenance, implementation and upgrades of a 24/7 critical data center infrastructure systems, monitor and report infrastructure system utilization and performance. The ideal candidate will have hands on expertise on equipments such as Fire Detection/ Protection Systems, Security, HVAC, CRAC, Cooling Tower, Chillers, Access Control, Generators, and Operational Controls.

Requirements

Qualified candidates will have experience in the following:
5- 7 years of data center infrastructure operations experience
Strong understanding of critical electrical and mechanical infrastructure used in data centers including UPS, generators, ATS (automatic transfer switch)/STS (static transfer switch), PDU (power distribution unit), chiller systems, CRAC units (computer room air conditioner), fire prevention systems and operational controls
Respond to service calls and perform routine and emergency service on state of the art critical systems
Strong verbal and written communications skills
Must have intermediate experience with Visio, Excel, PowerPoint, SiteScan and other BMS systems
Detail oriented Ability to work with minimal supervision, handle multiple tasks and solve complex problems
Ability to lift over 50 lbs, stand for long periods of time, work on ladders and under raised floors
Position requires ability to work flexible hours and to be on-call including weekends and holidays
Must be open to 10% travel to other sites in other states
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Management or trade school certification in relevant fields required
