Due to continued growth and expansion, Kentz now have a requirement for a Telecom Senior/Lead Engineer, based in our office in Doha.

Responsibilities:
Design, implement, maintain, and optimise robust, scalable, highly-automated, and secure technical solutions.
Analyse and assess distributed network security management systems and identify gaps leading to potential improvements.
Create scripts, employ tools, develop automation techniques, and pursue ideas to increase the manageability, efficiency, capability, capacity, and security of network security devices.
Design efficient, repeatable and measurable human processes for employing network security technologies and distributed management systems.
Serve as a subject matter expert on cross-organizational project teams to give advice to customers and peer groups on technology solutions.
Create comprehensive engineering documentation including design requirements, network diagrams, workflow diagrams, application communications diagrams, configuration documents, support documentation, training materials, and project documents.
Serve as a mentor for other engineers, teaching while doing, and provide opportunities to cross-train peers in parallel with task and project completion.
Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Education and Skills
•Candidates will hold qualifications in Telecommunications or equivalent from a recognised University.
•Candidates will have held similar positions with large EPC organisations and ideally have experience of working in the Gulf region and will have strong man-management skills and will be responsible for ensuring the quality of work produced by his/her team meets or exceeds clients quality standards and that engineering and procurement is completed on time, within budget and in a 'smart' fashion with constructability being a key consideration of each solution.
•Engineers will manage and technically direct the development of engineering deliverables e.g. specifications, security philosophies, block diagrams, equipment layouts, cable route layouts, camera coverage layouts, radio propagation studies, storage calculations, bandwidth calculations, schematic diagrams, installation details, cable schedules, bills of quantities, migration philosophies and all other related deliverables.
•Candidates will have engineering and design experience in the following technologies:
•Networking: fibre optic networks, OSP, telephony/PABX/IPT, data networks (LAN/WAN/wireless LAN), radio systems (HF/VHF/UHF/TETRA), WAN backbone microwave systems, SDH/PDH systems.
•Security: CCTV, MATV, access control, public address/general alarm, intruder detection and radar systems.
