Description Direct and manage all activity related to enterprise telephony infrastructure, applications, development, operations and system sustain. Works to ensure global telephony systems meet performance, stability and availability requirements on a daily basis. Manages the operations and sustain services delivered under global service contracts for Telephony; and ensures services from third-party suppliers is delivered with requisite quality. Prioritize and appropriately align telephony suppliers’ efforts. Manage telephony development and sustain activities that support the execution of all production deployment – major release, minor release, emergency and break/fix changes. Must develop and operate a complex set of technology platforms in a multi-vendor, geographically diverse operation in order to effectively deliver life-and-death emergency and other services to 6 million GM subscribers in a 24x7x365 operation. Develop and lead the implementation of a strategy to support the IT Research and Advanced Development and the Engineering Advanced System Development team’s efforts. These teams are tasked with rapidly developing and piloting new applications, technology and services. Enterprise Telephony has been tasked with analyzing supporting applications and infrastructure to determine the key production or high volume limitations, remediate them and move them into the standard sustain support model as quickly as possible. Must continually manage suppliers and internal staff to gain efficiencies to offset costs associated with implementing the ever growing suite of GM services. Roles and Responsibilities •Strategic business technology and sustain planning with all affected GM organizations •Ensuring that GM Enterprise Telephony meets performance, availability and budget objectives •Operational relationship management with internal business customers. •Work with development teams, business users, testing teams, and operations teams to devise and execute application and infrastructure transition to production plans •Supports timely introduction of new features / fixes to support production applications and infrastructure •Manage interactions and support of GM engineering’s sys ops team •Operate multi-discipline enterprise operations monitoring; develop monitoring enhancements •Working across IT and the business, develop playbooks for failover, business continuity and disaster recovery •Managing supplier efforts for restoring system functionality outages •Conducting root cause analysis and managing remediation implementation •Manage Problem Management processes •Manage Service Level Availability •Introducing organizational efficiencies including driving more accountability to sustain supplier and on-staff team members •Management of a cross-functional, multi-vendor, multi-discipline IT program. •Ensure the timely delivery of detailed systems engineering deliverables for network, server, storage, database, telephony requirements, with associated application impact. •Solution will be delivered to multiple data centers, call centers, and supplier. •Orchestrate the cadence and dependencies between work-streams to ensure the end-to-end solution is delivered per plan. •Ensure quality process to achieve Service Levels required to support GM’s mission critical business objectives are met. •Ensure that IT initiatives are transitioned to production with no negative impact to current operations and service levels. •Ensures that all non-functional requirements are met before deploying new or modified applications into production •Ensure that appropriate audit and compliance (SOX, PCI, GMAS) processes are adhered to as well as overseeing the development of remediation and implementation plans for any identified non-conformances. •Demonstrated experience with ITIL frameworks, especially incident and problem management. •Adept at the development and implementation of schedule, cost, and risk management strategies. •Experienced implementing project management at a program level, across multiple organizations and environments •Develop and execute approaches for applying project management methodologies and technologies to large-scale programs made up of multiple projects •Ensure quality and timely delivery of critical path products and services •Establish and maintain quality metrics and guidelines •Implement process and system improvements including integration with other functional areas •Coordinate efforts to resolve production infrastructure and application problems and follow-up tasks •Ensure accurate and timely reports, proper logging and tracking of problems, resolutions, and changes. •Plan and control budget |
RequirementsRequirementsQualifications •A solid mix of technical, project management and business skills •Adept at the development and implementation of schedule, cost, and risk management strategies •Experienced implementing project management at a program level, across multiple business organizations, suppliers and environments •Familiarity with supplier management model which includes development and management of service level agreements, statements of work, and metrics. •Understanding of global application deployment, utilization and support •High level of analytical ability, troubleshooting and root cause analysis •Familiarity with information systems and infrastructure in support of business processes •Knowledge, understanding and ability to stay current with IT industry trends, directions and market experience Basic Required •BA, BS related degrees or equivalent experience. Information technology focus preferred; Graduate degree preferred. •Experience with ITIL and CMMI Methodologies •Minimum of 5 years IT experience •Minimum of 2 years business/industry knowledge •SLA creation experience, prior accountability managing SLAs •Minimum 2 years of experience in managing complex infrastructure and systems •Minimum 2 years of experience with Supplier Management in an outsourced environment •Experience with production application support •Track record of successfully delivering strategic IT programs / projects / strategies •Demonstrated IT technical expertise and business acumen within the telematics domain Basic Preferred •Advanced degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field •Experience in developing automotive/vehicle telematics server application, multimedia application and telematics gateway following industry standard •Knowledge of mobile and wireless computing architectures •Experience developing and delivering highly available and complex systems •Fluent in both English and Arabic with the ability to speak and write in both languages •Experience with working in the Middle East |
